Change Is Coming To Asked With Riv & Landin

If you’re a fan of Asked with Riv & Landin you have to have noticed there have been many changes over the course of the past week involving our social accounts on all media.  Because of the fact it’s a lot to throw at people (far more than we can express in a Tweet or a Facebook Status Update), and due to the fact it takes up way too much time to verbally speak of on the air, this article is designed to help you come to terms with what you’re experiencing – kind of like a handbook teaching you about puberty, but better.  And yes, we realize Riv is not allowed to teach anyone about puberty after the “incident.”  Regardless, this article will tell you the things you need to know.

We are leaving BlogtalkRadio

Blo Radio. That pretty much sums up Blogtalkradio's service entirely.

Blo Radio. That pretty much sums up Blogtalkradio's service entirely.

Asked with Riv & Landin has been on Blogtalkradio since summer of 2010.  That’s a long time to deliver a show at 32 kbps audio quality.  As a result and after much deliberation, where factors included “how much like two guys on walking talkies do we sound,” “how many times a week does Blogtalkradio get DDOSed,” and “how many weeks in a row will Blogtalkradio not support or feature us in any way,” we decided to stream the show ourselves here on our website.

You can now listen to us on www.listentothisshow.com/listen live on Wednesday nights on the embeddable Mixlr player (an App is also available for Apple Product users).  Until Episode 200 we will continue to “simulcast” the show to more effectively help people who do not like change through the transition.  But why would you eat rotten fruit from the tree of mediocrity that is BlogTalkRadio?  Starting from Episode 196 and up you can now listen to us in 192 kbps quality.  No Johnny Landin burp will be unheard!

No More Chat Room

Some of you like to chat with other Asked with Riv & Landin listeners in our live chat.  While this feature is available to an extent on our new service, Social Networking has made this feature redundant anyway.  Going forward the best way to communicate via text with friends and fans of the show is to follow us on Twitter at the @RivAndLandin Twitter account (formerly our AskedCSTC account) & use the #RivAndLandin tag.  Tweets tagged with #RivAndLandin appear during the show on our listen page & refresh at a set interval.  It’s never been more useful to use our hashtags on social networking – as always we will retweet some of our favorite comments after the show!

Live-Streaming Means More Special Episodes

Go beyond Wednesday Nights with the new Asked with Riv & Landin!

Go beyond Wednesday Nights with the new Asked with Riv & Landin!

We’re committed to bringing you the best possible show that we can every week and while we will continue to keep our Wednesday at 10 PM EST, thanks to the lack of restrictions on time & date scheduling it is possible that in certain weeks we will either have a “bonus” episode, a “special” episode or schedule our show some other time in the week to accommodate guest interviews who are absolutely unable to do Wednesday nights at 10 PM Eastern.  Don’t worry if you can’t listen to the show live, as every episode of the show will be available right here on our website or via iTunes or our RSS Feed (for non-Apple Product Users) for your convenience.

Changes to Our Call-In Number & Call-In Methods

This guy REALLY wants to talk to Johnny Landin.  Do you?  Find out how!

This guy REALLY wants to talk to Johnny Landin.  Do you?  Find out how!

Unlike Blogtalkradio we don’t have a switchboard but we still have a direct telephone line to call in via your phone to talk to us.  The call-in number is 646-583-0469.  We don’t have a hold queue, so you’ll have to sit tight until we get to you.  If we don’t get to you in five minutes we might be tied up with a segment or an interview so try again later.  The ideal way to call into the show is to contact us on Skype and add our Skype Username (aninternetgod). Drop us a line if you want to talk and we’ll add you to the show as soon as we are able to!  As always callers will be allowed to stay on the line for up to 1-3 topics with us and then we will rotate them out and rotate in the next caller.  Keep trying and eventually your voice will be heard on Asked with Riv & Landin!
